Client requirements
Here follows minimum server specifications in order to satisfy the computation needs of client application:
- Cpu: Intel Core Due Duo 2GHz or equivalent
- Ram: 512 MB
Here follows minimum client software requirements, which are related to the operative system and the installed browser for the workstation running "e-works client":
- OS: MS Windows XP, MS Windows Vista, MS Windows 7, MS Windows Server 2003, MS Windows Server 2008
- Browser: MS IE 6.0+, Mozilla Firefox 2.0+ or equivalent
The band required for taking part in a meeting depends on the actual number of participants, the type of data they transmit (audio/video/data sharing) and the maximum band defined for each individual transmission flow or “bitrate”. The bitrate values that can be used are defined for each individual user (1 transmission flow (bitrate) = 1 participant).
By way of example: for a conference of 3 persons with a 128 kbps bitrate setting during which all the users transmit audio, video information and data, each participant must have a band of at least 128 kbps on the upload and a band of at least 256 kbps on the download (128 x 2).
The client must be able to connect to the mcu server using the TCP protocol on ports 80 and 443. The platform has a proxy support. The connections could be filtered anyway, depending on firewall or proxy settings. If this is the case, the network administrator must configure firewall and proxy in order to let the client to work.
